Young Landscaper of the Year finalist

Congratulations to our landscape apprentice Brad Murphy who was a finalist in the Landscaping New Zealand City Park Services “Young Landscaper of the Year” 2016 awards and says the experience was really challenging and rewarding.

“I learnt new skills, I was really well looked after and met other people in the industry,” says Brad who has been with Natural Habitats for three years and joined the company straight out of school.

Competing across a range of physical challenges such as laying paving and installing irrigation, the competition also involved a 3 minute speech on Energy Efficient Landscapes – and Brad wrote a speech on the benefits of Green Roofs.

Natural Habitats’ has a proud history of winners and finalists in this competition. Team Leader, Stefan Scott, was the winner of the 2015 competition, with the other winners being Darren Barrett and Blair Chicken.
