  • Capability to work carefully on heritage properties

  • How to solve neighbourly objections through design and construction stages with empathy, resulting in zero delays

  • Pricing competitiveness in market for build component

A valuable heritage asset of the City, both the Category A historic homestead and 14ha park were to be used to house the Wallace Foundation Collection of Art.

Natural Habitats expanded the developed and detailed designs and their implementation price was found to be the most competitive in the market through a limited tender.

They merged traditional shrubbery of original homestead with areas of native planting, thereby re-establishing the cultural connections within the site, which contains a pre-European Maori site named Whataroa.
