The MHX challenge was to establish the mixed native planting within a tight time frame and into very heavy, hard and clay predominant soil. 

The project which included large scale wetland and rehabilitation planting including 67,000 plants was started in November 2007 and was opened to traffic in August 2010, seven months ahead of its original schedule.

Attention to detail paid off with short and long term benefits, by producing rapid establishment and coverage, and minimizing the maintenance input required to produce the  consistent lush canopy still evident there today.
